Events

Why do we get involved in community events? We are a values based organisation and one of our values is “believe in being actively and positively engaged in our community” because intense optimistic engagement with the world makes us feel alive, full of potential and purpose. While that makes us feel warm and fuzzy there is a broader reason for community engagement that applies to our entire industry and the ecosystem it exists in. We are knowledge workers, we literally make a living from wielding our knowledge in the correct manner, so it may then seem natural to guard our knowledge as though it were a finite resource. But the easiest way to increase knowledge is to add more knowledge, the result almost always being greater than the sum of the input, growing together is faster than growing alone. So we put ourselves and our knowledge out there because feeding knowledge into the ecosystem benefits the entire ecosystem not only the recipients.

We like to think of it as pushing the boundaries of thought through sharing and collaboration.
